Your complete guide to living on campus

Living on campus benefits: your ultimate guide

Thinking about living on campus? Good choice! Living on campus at Charles Sturt University means you’ll have everything you need on your doorstep – and be fully supported as you take your first steps into the big wide world. However, we get that the transition to living away from home can be a little daunting. Don’t worry! We’re here to break it down for you guys. And show you all the living on campus benefits.

Plenty of students say one of the best parts of their Charles Sturt experience was living ‘on res’ (short for ‘on residence’). Take Katherine Rogers, for example. Katherine graduated from the Bachelor of Pharmacy and lived on campus in Wagga Wagga.

Katherine Rogers B Pharmacy

“I lived in a close-knit residence – it was really like a small family. It provided me with the facilities, friendship, support and routine I needed to make the huge change of moving from the only town I knew.”

Living on campus puts you at the heart of student life – so you can make the most of your study, social and leisure time. And compared to a big city, living in a regional city is much cheaper, meaning more $$$ in your pockets.

On top of all that, all first-year students who apply for accommodation are guaranteed a room at Charles Sturt. Unlike some metro universities, we offer almost all first-year students the chance to start their journey without worrying if they will get an on-campus accommodation spot. Now that has got to be one of the best living on campus benefits!

Ready to dip your toes into the ‘real world’? Let’s dive in – and get you set to move in!
